BETHEL — Officers from the Bethel Police Department responded to the area of 141 Nashville Road on Monday for a report of an unresponsive male lying near the roadway at approximately 8:11 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the male was breathing but unresponsive.
Evidence at the scene strongly suggests the individual was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Nashville Road.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim was transported immediately to Danbury Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Investigators have obtained photo and video evidence of the vehicle suspected of being involved.
The images show what appears to be a white, four-door sedan.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival and will most likely have passenger side damage.
The Bethel Police Department is actively investigating this hit-and-run incident.
