GALWAY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident call at 7:20 a.m. Sunday on Crooked Street.

Investigation led to the arrest of James R. Hoegemann, 27, of Galway.

Hoegemann was charged with six counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, which are class D felonies, and criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony.

Authorities accuse Hoegemann of intentionally damaging another person’s motor vehicle by kicking it and smashing the windshield with a hammer, causing over $250 in damage.

The Supreme Court issued an order directing a search of Hoegemann’s residence for firearms due to the circumstances of the call.

Deputies located an illegally possessed assault weapon and several large capacity ammunition feeding devices.

Hoegemann led deputies on a vehicle pursuit when they attempted to apprehend him, resulting in additional charges for Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions and misdemeanor reckless driving.

He was arraigned before Judge Steven L. Brown in Milton Town Court.

Hoegemann was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in Galway Town Court.
