Drug arrests follow weekend patrols in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN — Officers patrolling the city’s west side located Scott E. Moore near the intersection of Forest and Linden avenues at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officers had prior knowledge of an active warrant for Moore issued by the Jamestown Police Department.

Moore was taken into custody without incident.

A quantity of heroin was located on Moore during the investigation.

Moore is being held at the Jamestown City Jail.

At 6:34 a.m. Sunday, officers patrolling the north side of the city observed Delvin R. Speed walking on a sidewalk.

Officers were aware of an active warrant for Speed issued by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Speed was taken into custody without incident.

A quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found on Speed’s person.

Speed is being held at the Jamestown City Jail.

Officers observed Joshua T. Berg committing a city code violation while riding a bicycle near East Eighth and Fulton streets at 12:53 a.m. Monday.

Officers initiated a street check, at which point Berg fled on foot.

Berg was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

A quantity of fentanyl was discovered on Berg while he was in custody.

The investigation revealed active warrants for Berg from the Jamestown Police Department for larceny and from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for grand larceny.

Berg was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment.

Berg is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and resisting arrest.
