MAMAKATING — A Bronx man was arrested Wednesday on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of fentanyl, cocaine and cannabis in his vehicle.
Avery C. Jackson, 35, was pulled over at approximately 1:52 p.m. on State Route 17 near Exit 114 after New York State Police Troop F Community Stabilization Unit members observed his 2011 Subaru committing multiple traffic violations.
A K9 from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office conducted an exterior search of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Police found approximately 152.4 grams of fentanyl, 22.6 grams of cocaine and 361.5 grams of cannabis in the vehicle.
Officers also discovered drug paraphernalia including two boxes of glassine envelopes, three small spoons and one box of small rubber bands.
Jackson was transported to the State Police barracks in Middletown for processing.
He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd degree, unlawful possession of cannabis and multiple traffic violations.
Jackson was arraigned in Mamakating Town Court at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
