Greece police arrest man in Erie Canal Drive burglaries

GREECE — Detectives from the Greece Police Department have arrested a homeless man in connection with multiple burglaries along Erie Canal Drive.

Anthony J. Carter, 43, was taken into custody without incident on Sept. 17 when detectives located him in the City of Rochester.

Carter has been charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief and petit larceny in two separate cases.

In case CR 25-055171, Carter faces two counts of burglary in the third degree, two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree and petit larceny.

In case CR 25-036879, he is charged with burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.

Carter was transported to the county jail to await arraignment in CAP Court.

Detectives believe Carter is responsible for at least seven recent burglaries along Erie Canal Drive.

Additional charges are likely to be filed as the investigation continues.
