STAMFORD — A 31-year-old Stamford man has been charged with federal fentanyl and cocaine trafficking offenses following an investigation that uncovered nearly 2 kilograms of drugs hidden in an apartment complex storage room.

Brandon Turner, also known as “Bizz,” appeared Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria E. Garcia in Bridgeport and was ordered detained.

David X. Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Jarod Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England, and Stamford Police Chief Timothy Shaw announced the charges.

Turner had been detained in state custody for unrelated offenses prior to the federal charges.

An investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit identified Turner as a narcotics distributor.

In July 2024, investigators made a controlled purchase of fentanyl from Turner.

On April 21, employees of an apartment complex where Turner had been employed as a maintenance worker found a tool bag in a storage room that contained approximately 790 grams of fentanyl and 1 kilogram of cocaine.

The investigation, which included a review of surveillance camera footage and DNA analysis, determined that Turner had placed the bag in the storage room.

A court-authorized search of Turner’s vehicle revealed additional quantities of fentanyl and cocaine.

The complaint charges Turner with possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, an offense that carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life.

He is also charged with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, an offense that carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 5 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of 40 years.

The DEA’s Bridgeport Task Force includes personnel from the DEA Bridgeport Resident Office, the Connecticut State Police, and Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford and Stratford police departments.
