NORWALK — The Norwalk Police Department’s Special Services Division executed a search and seizure warrant at A and Z Tobacco and Vape Shop on Sept. 17.

The shop is located at 108 Connecticut Avenue.

This marked the fifth search warrant executed at this location and the first under the name A and Z Tobacco and Vape Shop.

The action was part of an ongoing investigation into smoke shops in Norwalk suspected of selling cannabis and cannabis products without a valid cannabis license.

Under Connecticut law, it is illegal to sell products containing a THC concentration greater than 0.3% without a state-issued license, as well as to sell marijuana outside of a licensed dispensary.

During the execution of the warrant, investigators recovered 15.8 pounds of nitrous oxide flavored gas.

Police also seized 2.32 pounds of marijuana in pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes and containers.

Officers found 1.08 pounds of THC vape products and 1.22 pounds of cannabis gummies.

A majority of these items were located inside a concealed trap built into a shelving unit within the store.

The FDA warns that inhaling nitrous oxide from canisters, tanks, or chargers can lead to serious health risks, including death.

A 16-year-old employee was issued a juvenile summons for violation of restricted substances, possession with intent to sell over 1kg of cannabis, possession of paraphernalia, and sale of 1kg or more of cannabis.

The case remains under investigation.
