Worcester police arrest 2 men on drug, gun charges

WORCESTER — Vice Squad detectives arrested two men on drug and weapons charges following a lengthy investigation into crack cocaine distribution.

William Corivano, 38, was arrested at approximately 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Lincoln and McKinley roads after detectives observed him leave a residence on Duxbury Road and enter a local business.

Detectives had obtained two search warrants targeting Corivano and developed probable cause to arrest him for distribution of cocaine during their investigation.

Following Corivano’s arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at the Duxbury Road residence.

Inside the residence, detectives found Trent James, 20, asleep in a bedroom.

During the search, detectives recovered a loaded 9mm firearm with an attached optic from the bed where James was sleeping.

The firearm was loaded with a round in the chamber and contained a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

Detectives also seized approximately 30 individually packaged rocks of crack cocaine, digital scales and drug packaging materials.

Investigation revealed James does not possess a license to carry or firearms identification card.

Corivano was charged with distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

James faces charges including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, use of a firearm during commission of a felony, and improper storage of a large capacity firearm where a minor may have access.
