2 arrested on separate charges in Rhode Island corrections investigations

CRANSTON — The Rhode Island Department of Corrections’ ACI Investigations Unit has arrested two men on separate charges in recent days.

Whab Abiola, 42, of 30 Branch Street, Pawtucket, was arrested Monday on an affidavit and arrest warrant for simple assault.

The charge originated from the ACI Investigations Unit.

Abiola was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was granted personal recognizance bail.

On Sunday, investigators arrested Sary Khorn, 35, of 191 Woodbine Street, Cranston, on an affidavit and arrest warrant for obtaining money under false pretenses over $10,000.

The charge also originated from the ACI Investigations Unit.

Khorn was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and granted personal recognizance bail.
