ST. JOHNSBURY — Vermont State Police arrested a St. Johnsbury man Monday evening on charges of first degree aggravated domestic assault.
Derek Bristol was taken into custody at approximately 6 p.m. Sept. 16 following an investigation into an assault at a private residence on First Street.
Police said Bristol attempted to cause serious bodily injury to a household member.
The victim was identified as a juvenile whose name was not released in accordance with state police policy regarding domestic violence cases.
The investigation was conducted jointly by Vermont State Police and the Department for Children and Families.
Bristol was processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks and subsequently held without bail at the Northeast Regional Correctional Complex.
