WATERVLIET — The Watervliet Police Department announced the arrest of Willie E. Sims for the unlawful distribution of illegal drugs following a lengthy investigation.
On Sept. 4, Watervliet Police Detectives were investigating an ongoing complaint of drug activity and sales in the city.
Through investigative work, detectives determined that Sims was responsible for actively distributing illegal narcotics throughout the community.
Sims was located in the area of 26th Street and 3rd Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Sims, a 50-year-old male from Watervliet, has been charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Sell in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony.
Sims was arraigned in Watervliet City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.
