LAWRENCE — Damien Manuel German, 25, of Lawrence, was arraigned on murder charges Monday following a fatal shooting on Newbury Street on Sunday night.
German appeared in Lawrence District Court before Judge Edward Karcasinas on charges of murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was held without bail.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
The court granted the Commonwealth’s request that related records be impounded.
German is scheduled to return to court Oct. 15 for a probable cause hearing.
The Lawrence Police Department responded to the shooting call.
The investigation also included the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the district attorney’s office and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
