SOMERVILLE — Somerville Police responded to multiple breaking and entering incidents across the city between Sept. 2 and Sept. 6, including a case where a resident awoke to find an intruder standing over him.
The most alarming incident occurred at 5:59 a.m. Sept. 3 on Quincy Street, where a victim reported waking up to discover an unknown individual in his bedroom.
The suspect fled the residence immediately, and nothing was reported missing from the home.
On Sept. 2 at 4:13 p.m., officers responded to Wallace Street where a resident discovered damage to a door lock and believed someone had broken into his home.
A commercial break-in was reported Sept. 3 at 11:12 a.m. on Columbia Street, where a business owner found two males sleeping inside his permanently closed establishment.
The most recent breaking and entering occurred Sept. 6 at 11:23 a.m. on Alewife Brook Parkway, where a man discovered jewelry missing from his mother’s apartment.
Police also responded to two assault cases during the period.
On Sept. 6 at 7:47 p.m., a group of juveniles stole items from a Canal Street business and assaulted a clerk while leaving the store.
At 3:50 a.m. Sept. 7, a victim reported being attacked in Davis Square by a male who threw bricks and struck him in the head with a stick.
Additional crimes reported during the period included three vandalisms, two package thefts, eight bike thefts, five car breaks, two moped thefts and two motor vehicle thefts.
