PLATTSBURGH — A 39-year-old Plattsburgh man was arrested on a felony assault charge following an incident at the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
David Benson was taken into custody at 8:26 p.m. Sept. 12 after deputies investigated a reported assault at the jail facility.
Benson was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the correctional facility after receiving a report of an assault that had occurred within the facility.
Following an investigation, authorities determined Benson committed the alleged offense.
Benson was processed at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office following his arrest.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date to face the charges.
Benson remains in custody at the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
