Bath man arrested on domestic violence charges at hotel

BATH — Bath Police Officers were dispatched to the Finger Lakes Inn and Suites, 330 West Morris Street, on Sept. 13 around 4:10 p.m. for a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, officers were met outside of the hotel by witnesses and the suspect, Nicholas Harrison, 21, of Bath.

Police allege Harrison strangled the victim in a hotel room and held her so she could not escape.

A 4-year-old child was inside the room during the incident.

Witnesses said they could hear the victim and child screaming for help from the hallway.

Two witnesses entered the room and pulled Harrison off of the victim.

The child was not injured.

Harrison was arrested on two counts of criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor; strangulation, a class D felony; unlawful imprisonment, a class E felony; and aggravated family offense, a class E felony.

Harrison was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries sustained when witnesses separated him from the victim.

He was processed on the charges and transported to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment.

Harrison was arrested on similar charges in May.
