ADAMS CENTER — State Police responded to the area of State Route 177 near Adams Center in Jefferson County for a report of a one-vehicle fatal collision on Sept. 10 at approximately 11:08 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Ford Expedition was traveling westbound on State Route 177 when it exited the roadway and struck a culvert.
The vehicle overturned multiple times, struck a mailbox, and caught fire.
The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
