CARMEL — Deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on outstanding drug trafficking warrants Sept. 12 and seized more than 85 grams of illicit drugs and five firearms from his residence.
Casey Corbett, 37, was arrested at his West Court residence at approximately 3:30 p.m. on active warrants issued by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency related to drug trafficking.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and violation of conditional release.
Misty Corbett, 37, also of Carmel, was present at the residence and arrested for obstructing government administration and refusing to submit to arrest or detention after she resisted deputies attempting to secure the residence.
At the jail, Misty Corbett was observed attempting to swallow drugs in her possession, leading to additional charges.
Deputies seized over 76 gross grams of suspected fentanyl, 11.4 gross grams of methamphetamine, various pills, three handguns and two rifles during the search.
Casey Corbett was charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs, a Class A felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person as a convicted felon, a Class B felony, in addition to his existing warrants.
Misty Corbett was charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs, a Class A felony; trafficking in prison contraband, a Class B felony; and falsifying physical evidence, obstructing government administration and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, all Class D charges.
Corey Corbett, 46, was also present and arrested on a warrant for probation revocation.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and continues to investigate the matter.
