SANGERFIELD — A 44-year-old man was arrested Sept. 12 after fleeing from a deputy during a traffic stop, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Robert Maciol said Aaron Wright was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze with a fictitious inspection sticker on Route 12 around 11:25 a.m. when a patrol deputy attempted to stop the vehicle.
Wright, whose driver’s license is revoked, fled at a high rate of speed on Craigfoot Road, prompting the deputy to terminate the pursuit.
The deputy later found the unoccupied vehicle behind a residence on Tubbs Road.
Wright was located inside the residence and surrendered without incident.
He was transported to the Waterville Field Office and charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in the third degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third and second degrees, displaying a forged inspection sticker, operating an uninspected vehicle and speeding over 55 mph.
Wright was issued an appearance ticket and traffic tickets returnable to Sangerfield Town Court.
New York State Police assisted deputies at the scene.
