2 arrested in Pleasant Valley after police dog finds stolen gun during traffic stop

PLEASANT VALLEY — Members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit observed a vehicle traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law at approximately 5:33 p.m. Sept. 8.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Jarrell A. Jenkins, 41, of Bronx, and the front seat passenger as Rodnesha S. Wilson, 34, of Troy.

State Police K-9 Rovak conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.

A subsequent probable cause search revealed a stolen, loaded Springfield Armory .40 caliber handgun.

Both Jenkins and Wilson were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, 2nd degree, a class C felony.

They were also charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony, and criminal possession of stolen property, 4th degree, a class E felony.

Jenkins and Wilson were arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.

Both are scheduled to reappear in court Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
