MALTA — State Police arrested Morgan D. Lange, 33 of Glenville, for Vehicular Assault in the second degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Driving While Intoxicated, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations on Sept. 8.
At about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 8, Troopers responded to a parking lot on Hemphill Place in Malta for the report of a person struck and pinned under a vehicle.
The pedestrian was removed from under the vehicle with the assistance of the Malta Stillwater Fire Department and transported to Saratoga Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Lange.
Lange allegedly attempted to remove and dispose of an open alcoholic beverage from within the vehicle immediately following the incident.
She remained on scene and contacted emergency services.
Lange was arrested on scene and transported to SP Saratoga for processing where she recorded a 0.12% BAC.
She was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on Sept. 11 and released.
The pedestrian was later transferred to Albany Medical Center where they remain in critical condition.
