HOLYOKE — Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced Saturday that officers arrested 18-year-old Javion Rosa and seized more than 80 vials of suspected cocaine.
Around 4:40 a.m., Officer Samantha Cayer was conducting a quality-of-life property check at 534 South Bridge Street.
Officer Cayer observed a subject, later identified as Javion Rosa, in a vehicle that was connected to an unrelated drug seizure a few days prior.
On Sept. 4 around 3:30 a.m., Officer Giovani Abella was conducting a property check at 529 South Summer Street.
Officer Abella observed an unoccupied vehicle in the area with its windows partially open.
Officers then observed drugs in the car.
During a search of the immediate surrounding area, officers recovered 73 vials of crack-cocaine and seven bundles (70 bags) of heroin/fentanyl.
On Saturday night, Rosa admitted to entering the unlocked vehicle, which was not his.
While searching Rosa, officers recovered approximately 82 vials of suspected cocaine and more than $400 in cash.
Officers placed Rosa under arrest.
18-year-old Javion Rosa of Holyoke is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class B drug, and breaking and entering into a vehicle – nighttime for a felony.
