ALBANY — State Police from SP Albany Thruway conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of North Pearl Street and Loudonville Road Sept. 8 at approximately 2:18 p.m. for vehicle and traffic violations.
During the interview, troopers identified inconsistencies in the driver’s statements.
Probable cause was established, and K9 “Jay” conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert.
A subsequent search revealed 6.3 grams of heroin packaged in glassine baggies inside the glove compartment.
The driver and sole occupant, Luccas Serriano, age 32, of Schenectady, was taken into custody and transported to SP Albany for processing.
Serriano was arraigned in Albany City Court and released with a return date of Aug. 25.
Serriano faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a Class C felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, a Class B felony.
