DELHI — Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrests of a Stamford man and a Hobart woman on drug charges and vehicle and traffic charges.
On Sept. 2, while on patrol in the Town of Delhi, Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle being operated by a driver known to have a suspended drivers license.
Prior to conducting a traffic stop, Deputies observed the driver and the passenger switch seats.
Upon conducting a traffic stop, Deputies observed drugs and paraphernalia in plain view and conducted a search of the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a quantity of crack cocaine and fentanyl was removed from the vehicle and following an inquiry with the NYS DMV, it was confirmed that both occupants had their driving privileges in New York State suspended.
Deputies subsequently arrested Deanna Eignor, age 23 of Hobart, and charged her with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
Additionally, Eignor was issued a traffic summons for Unlicensed Operator.
Dustin Roberts, age 30 of Stamford, was also arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
Additionally, Roberts was issued a traffic summons for Unlicensed Operator.
Both Eignor and Roberts were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date to answer the charges.
