NANTICOKE — A Lisle man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly raping a juvenile and 44 felony weapons charges following an investigation by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, Sept. 2, members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol responded to a report of a rape that reportedly occurred in the Town of Nanticoke.
The victim, a female juvenile, reported that she had been staying at a friend’s house when the friend’s father, Kurt G. Compton, age 36 of Lisle, had given her alcohol and marijuana before raping her in a bedroom of the residence.
During the investigation, Broome County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were granted a search warrant of Compton’s residence on Caldwell Hill Road in the Town of Nanticoke.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators recovered seven illegal firearms and 37 illegal ammunition magazines in addition to evidence related to the rape investigation.
Compton was charged with two counts of rape in the 1st degree, class B felonies.
He was also charged with seven counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, class D felonies.
Compton faces 37 counts of criminal possession of a weapon (ammunition feeding device) in the 3rd degree, class D felonies.
Additional charges include unlawfully dealing with a child in the 1st degree, a class A misdemeanor, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
Compton was arraigned at Central Arraignment Part and remains in custody at the Broome County Correctional Facility.
