DANBY — Two drivers escaped injury Monday morning when their vehicles collided on US Route 7 near Cascades Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:40 a.m. when Elliot Skaleski, 29, of Danby, was traveling north on North Main Street in a 2013 Honda CRV and attempted to turn left onto US Route 7, according to Vermont State Police.
Lisa Torsiello, 41, of Clarendon, was traveling south on US Route 7 in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra when Skaleski entered the roadway without the right of way, police said.
Torsiello swerved to avoid the collision but was unable to prevent the crash.
The impact caused Torsiello’s vehicle to spin to an uncontrolled position and come to rest facing northbound on US Route 7.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither was injured, police said.
Skaleski’s Honda sustained minor front-end damage while Torsiello’s Hyundai suffered major passenger side damage.
Weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
A Vermont civil violation complaint is pending, according to state police.
