2 vehicles collide at Grand Isle intersection

GRAND ISLE — Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Gordon’s Landing and Route 314 on Sept. 7 at approximately 2:41 p.m.

A 16-year-old juvenile from Colchester driving a 2019 Ford Escape failed to yield to traffic at the intersection and struck a 2009 Volvo XC90 operated by Elizabeth Smith, 47, of Grand Isle, according to police.

Smith’s vehicle struck an Agency of Transportation street sign and a large informational sign as a result of the collision.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and airbags deployed in both cars.

Neither driver was injured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

Road conditions were dry and weather was clear during the incident.

The Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks was assisted at the scene by Grand Isle Fire Department, Grand Isle Rescue, F & S Towing and McRea’s Towing.
