Clifton Park man arrested after hammer assault at apartment complex

CLIFTON PARK — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call Wednesday at 9:51 a.m. at the Fox Run apartment complex.

Investigation into the call led to the arrest of Angel L. Bracero-Ortiz Jr., 51, of Wilton, for assault in the second degree, a class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Bracero-Ortiz is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to another person by means of a dangerous instrument.

He allegedly struck another person on their hand with a hammer during an altercation.

Bracero-Ortiz was arraigned before the Honorable Robert A. Rybak in the Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.

The victim reportedly suffered a laceration, swelling and substantial pain to their left thumb.
