Ilion man arrested on disorderly conduct charges in Clinton

CLINTON — Deputies arrested John D. Lindig Jr., 53, of Ilion on Sept. 6 for disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest following an incident at Cliff’s Gas Station.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, deputies initially observed Lindig in the roadway acting disorderly, causing traffic issues and attempting to take a construction cone.

Deputies made contact with Lindig, who was intoxicated and continued to cause a public concern.

When deputies attempted to take Lindig into custody, he resisted and repeatedly attempted to prevent deputies from placing him in custody, causing multiple agencies to respond to the struggle.

Lindig was charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, obstructing governmental administration, a Class A misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in court and released with a future court date scheduled for the Town of Kirkland Court.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kirkland Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, Central Oneida County Ambulance and the New York State Police.
