KIRKLAND — A Massachusetts woman was injured Sept. 4 when her vehicle rolled over after striking a utility pole on Fountain Street.
Patricia M. Cerda, 22, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, was driving a gray BMW SUV south on Fountain Street when the vehicle left the roadway due to driver distraction and imprudent speed for wet road conditions, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
The SUV struck a utility pole, causing it to roll over and trap the driver inside.
Cerda was transported by COCVAC Ambulance to Wynn Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Fountain Street remained closed while National Grid crews completed repairs to damaged utilities.
The roadway has since reopened.
