2 women arrested in Auburn after shoplifting spree, fast food stop

AUBURN — Two women were arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from TJ Maxx and then stopping at a nearby Wendy’s drive-thru.

The Auburn Police Department received a report at approximately 2 p.m. Aug. 13 that two females had shoplifted from TJ Maxx, according to police.

A TJ Maxx employee reported the suspects fled in a black Ford Edge with Connecticut plates after taking the merchandise.

Sgt. Wildman located the suspect vehicle in the drive-thru line at Wendy’s, which is located across the street from the TJ Maxx store.

Officers Markvenas, Crowley and Brooks assisted in the arrest and spotted over $2,000 worth of stolen TJ Maxx merchandise in plain view inside the vehicle.

Dominque Marion, 38, of Worcester, and Tynaja Williams, 24, of New Haven, Connecticut, were arrested and charged with larceny over $1,200 and conspiracy.

Detectives Bresse and Ryan discovered additional items believed stolen from other area stores while sorting through the merchandise in the vehicle.

Police are working with neighboring departments to return the property and the two women may face charges in other jurisdictions.
