CLINTON — A Hamilton man was arrested Sept. 2 on multiple charges including driving while intoxicated with children in his vehicle, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

James L. Wier, 43, was charged with two counts of Leandra’s Law DWI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Sheriff Robert Maciol said.

The traffic stop was conducted in the Village of Clinton by a deputy assigned to the Oneida County Stop DWI Patrol.

Deputies determined Wier’s license was revoked due to a prior DWI conviction earlier this year.

Two children ages 14 and 9 were in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Wier was also charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree and numerous other traffic charges.

He was held at the Oneida County Jail for arraignment Sept. 3 as part of centralized arraignment.
