ROME — Two Rome women were arrested Sept. 3 following a larceny investigation, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.
On July 2 at approximately 8:05 p.m., the Road Patrol Division responded to Walmart in the city of Rome for a reported larceny complaint.
Deputies were advised that an employee was caught under scanning multiple items on multiple dates for the same customer.
The total value of the stolen items exceeded $1,000.
The case was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit.
Gina A. Lavine, 33, and Susan M. Pratt, 49, were arrested and both charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony.
Both women were transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing.
Lavine and Pratt were issued appearance tickets, released, and are to appear in Rome City Court at a later date.
