NORTH NORWICH — A 49-year-old registered sex offender was arrested Aug. 15 on charges of disseminating indecent material to a minor, according to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher L. Prosser was taken into custody at his North Norwich home without incident after deputies investigated a complaint that he was having sexually motivated conversations with a teenage female.
According to the sheriff’s office, Prosser used an alias to communicate with the minor and sent a nude photo of himself while soliciting the teen to do the same.
During the conversation, Prosser made arrangements to meet the female for sexual relations, deputies said.
Members of the sheriff’s office and detectives division conducted a thorough investigation into Prosser’s communications with the minor before making the arrest.
Prosser was transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for processing and later arraigned at CAP court.
He was held on $15,000 cash bond.
Prosser faces charges of disseminating indecent material to minors in the first degree, possessing sexual performance by a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
