LOCKE — A 62-year-old man was arrested on a criminal contempt charge after allegedly violating an order of protection while reporting another protection order violation.

Michael J. Yaw was arrested at 2:01 a.m. on Aug. 29 and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.

Deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:51 a.m. on Aug. 29 to a report of an order of protection violation.

Yaw had called to report that someone he has an order of protection against may be violating that order.

While on scene, deputies determined that Yaw was speaking on his cell phone with a different person who has a full stay-away order of protection against Yaw.

The order prohibits Yaw from making any communication with that victim, including phone calls.

Yaw was processed at the Public Safety Building and turned over to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

Bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

Yaw is scheduled to appear in Town of Locke Court on Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m.
