Boston police arrest man on warrants in South End commercial burglary case

BOSTON — Officers assigned to District D-4 arrested 55-year-old Thomas Patak of Boston on Wednesday on multiple outstanding warrants related to commercial burglaries.

At approximately 12 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street in response to a recent spike in commercial break-ins.

Officers were aware of a suspect bulletin issued by the Boston Regional Intelligence Center identifying Patak as wanted.

During the patrol, officers observed an individual matching the description provided in the bulletin and conducted a subject stop.

A subsequent records check confirmed that Patak had four active warrants for his arrest.

Patak was taken into custody without incident and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

The outstanding warrants, all issued out of Boston Municipal Court, include breaking and entering a building at night for a felony, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, breaking and entering a building at night for a felony, and larceny from a building.
