UTICA — Utica Police responded to a report of a neighbor dispute involving a handgun on the 1100 block of St. Vincent St at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Sept. 1.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with multiple individuals who reported that a female neighbor, later identified as Jamie Degristina, 48, entered their home and began acting erratically.
Witnesses stated that during the encounter, Degristina allegedly slapped both her daughter and another woman at the residence without apparent reason.
A fight then broke out among the individuals present, during which Jamie Degristina reportedly obtained a baseball bat and swung it at the others.
As the altercation continued, a male, later identified as Anthony Degristina, 46, exited a neighboring residence and was seen threatening people with what was described as a silver revolver before retreating inside.
Officers separated all parties involved and gathered information indicating that a weapon had been displayed and threats made.
Police attempted negotiations with the male suspect, who eventually exited the home and was detained without further incident.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence.
During the subsequent search, police located a silver revolver, later determined to be a replica, alongside a long rifle, an AK-47 rifle, baseball bats, and a felony quantity of narcotics.
Both Anthony Degristina and Jamie Degristina were transported to the Utica Police Department following the search.
Anthony Degristina was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, two counts of menacing in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Jamie Degristina was charged with three counts of harassment, two counts of menacing in the second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.
