Clinton police investigate drive-by shooting on Canaan Road

CLINTON — Multiple residents reported a vehicle firing shots from its passenger side window while traveling toward Canaan on Sept. 1 between 8:30 and 9 p.m., according to the Clinton Police Department.

The shooting occurred in the 300 to 400 block of Canaan Road.

No injuries have been reported.

One residence was struck by a bullet.

Officers recovered multiple shell casings at the scene.

No reports were made at the time of the incident, with all reports coming after a resident discovered a bullet had entered their home.

The motive remains unknown and the investigation is active.

Police are asking anyone with information or camera footage showing vehicles on Canaan Road between 8:30 and 9 p.m. that night to call the Clinton Police Department and ask for Detective Sergeant Smith.

Residents should remain vigilant and call 911 immediately to report any suspicious vehicles or shots fired, according to Officer Mike Conners.
