FERRISBURGH — Two drivers sustained suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US Route 7 and New Haven Road on Sept. 2 at approximately 7:19 a.m.
Loretta Robarge-Hawkins, 85, of Ferrisburgh was driving a 2023 Toyota RAV4 eastbound on New Haven Road when a 2024 Mazda CX-90 driven by Lisa Maggio, 43, of Ferrisburgh struck her vehicle.
Maggio was traveling southbound on US Route 7 and entered the intersection without yielding to Robarge-Hawkins, according to Vermont State Police.
The front end of Maggio’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Robarge-Hawkins’ vehicle, causing both vehicles to come to uncontrolled rest.
Robarge-Hawkins was transported by ambulance to Porter Medical Center for suspected minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry.
The intersection has only one stop sign for vehicles entering from New Haven Road.
US Route 7 was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour.
Vermont State Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Middlebury Police Department, Vergennes Fire Department and Vergennes Area Rescue Squad.
