81-year-old man arrested for aggravated assault, criminal threatening in Bradford

BRADFORD — An 81-year-old man was arrested Sunday after allegedly threatening a woman while displaying a firearm.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a threatening incident at 417 Lower Plain at 4:50 p.m.

Investigation revealed David Martin of Newbury threatened Karen Belknap, 57, of West Topsham, while displaying a firearm, placing her in fear for her life, police said.

Martin was located and placed under arrest.

He was transported to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Martin was charged with aggravated assault and criminal threatening.

He was issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court Criminal Division on Sept. 30 at 8 a.m. and was released.
