MILFORD — A 33-year-old Milford man has been arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at Kohl’s that occurred Aug. 20.
Benjamin Fryer was taken into custody Thursday, Aug. 28, at 1:35 p.m. by Milford Police detectives on an active warrant related to the theft.
Police said the incident occurred Aug. 20 at approximately 3:14 p.m. when the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a call from Kohl’s at 91 Medway Road reporting a high-dollar shoplifting incident.
A white male was observed pushing a shopping cart full of merchandise out of the store, according to police.
The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived, taking approximately $508 worth of merchandise and failing to stop for Kohl’s loss prevention personnel.
Officers at the scene identified the suspect as Fryer, but an area search at the time was unsuccessful.
Fryer has been charged with shoplifting by asportation, second offense, and larceny under $1,200.
