MANCHESTER — Manchester Police responded to 733 Island Pond Road on Sept. 1 at approximately 7:45 p.m. for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a house.
Arriving officers discovered a white Tesla that had collided with the front of the residence, causing significant structural damage.
Manchester Fire personnel forced entry into the home for a safety sweep and four dogs were located inside.
The animals were unharmed, and no other occupants were present.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Alan Piket of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, was on scene and uninjured.
An investigation revealed that prior to the crash, New Hampshire State Police encountered Piket’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 93 northbound.
Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but Piket did not comply and exited the highway at Exit 6 (Candia Road).
He was later determined to have been driving approximately 100 mph on East Industrial Drive, where the posted speed limit is 30 mph.
At the intersection of East Industrial Drive and Island Pond Road, the vehicle struck the house.
Piket was taken into custody by Manchester Police and charged with Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Mischief.
He was scheduled for arraignment today in Manchester District Court.
