OLEAN — Christopher L. Gross, 55, of Olean, was arrested Thursday morning during a traffic stop on vehicle and traffic law violations.
The arrest occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m., according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies discovered Gross had an outstanding felony bench warrant from the sheriff’s office related to a prior drug arrest.
While being taken into custody, Gross dropped a pipe with residue on the ground, authorities said.
A subsequent search of Gross and his vehicle revealed suspected crack cocaine, suspected fentanyl, packaging materials and a scale.
Gross was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Olean Substation for processing.
He was arraigned in City of Olean Court on the warrant and additional charges including two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.
Gross was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail with bail set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 insurance or $10,000 partially secured.
