SYRACUSE — State Police responded to a reported assault at Santillo’s Sausage food stand at the New York State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 31, at approximately 12:53 a.m.
The investigation determined that while employees were cleaning up for the evening, a verbal altercation occurred between two workers.
During the incident, the suspect, identified as Branden J. Brown, age 25, of York, Pa., was in possession of a culinary knife and struck the victim in the left cheek, causing injury.
The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital for treatment.
Brown fled the scene prior to patrols arriving but was later located and taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony.
Brown was transported to Onondaga CAP Court for arraignment.
