Russell police arrest 2 after Huntington road disturbance

RUSSELL — Russell Police and Massachusetts State Police responded to a reported disturbance involving neighbors at a residence on Huntington Road at 7:55 p.m. Thursday.

Dispatchers reported that weapons, including a baseball bat and a handgun, were involved in the incident.

When officers arrived, they secured a male and a female suspect at the scene.

Police located a male victim who had been struck several times with a baseball bat and had a handgun pointed at his head.

Investigators determined the handgun was a pepper ball weapon.

Both suspects were taken into custody and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

They were arraigned at Westfield District Court on Friday morning.
