RUSSELL — On August 28, at approximately 12:20 p.m., members of the New York State Police arrested Jesse L. Anson, 45, of Edwards, on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
Troopers responded to a residence on County Route 24 in the town of Russell to locate Anson, who had several pending felony charges.
The State Police obtained consent to search the residence and located Anson hiding inside.
Anson was detained and a search found drug paraphernalia and narcotics on his person.
He was taken to SP Gouverneur for processing and further questioning regarding other ongoing cases.
Anson was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Russell Court for a later date in October.
On July 9, at approximately 11:28 a.m., troopers had responded to a burglary complaint on Trout Lake Street in the town of Edwards.
The investigation determined that an individual had entered a closed-down body shop and stolen tools as well as a green 1997 GMC pickup truck.
State Police found that Anson was in possession of the stolen pickup truck.
He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, with the value exceeding $3,000.
On August 9, at approximately 6:40 a.m., State Police responded to a report of an order of protection violation on Little York Road in the town of Fowler.
The investigation revealed that Anson and the victim had an active stay-away order of protection, and Anson had been sending messages to the victim.
Troopers conducted a search for Anson but were unable to locate him at the time.
On August 28, Anson was located and arrested.
He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense.
Anson was arraigned in the Town of Fowler Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
