ALBANY — Albany police are investigating two separate stabbing incidents that occurred Thursday evening in the city, with both victims receiving treatment for their injuries.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to 911 Central Avenue for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old man with stab wounds to his forearm and shoulder area.

The victim was treated at the scene by Albany Fire Department personnel and emergency medical staff.

He was then transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Investigators determined that the victim and suspect had been involved in an altercation before the stabbing.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

A second incident occurred at 9:40 p.m. on the 400 block of Yates Street near Ontario Street.

Police responded to a report of a domestic-related altercation.

Officers learned that Calibi McLeod, 27, of Albany, had forced entry into a residence, initiating a physical altercation involving himself, the victim, and another individual.

During the incident, McLeod sustained a stab wound to the chest and left the scene before officers arrived.

Shortly after, Albany Medical Center Hospital staff notified police that a 27-year-old man had entered the emergency room with stab wounds.

Officers confirmed the man was McLeod, the suspect in the Yates Street incident.

McLeod is listed in stable condition.

A 27-year-old woman also suffered a minor stab wound to her leg during the dispute.

Two young children were present at the residence but were not injured.

McLeod was arraigned Friday afternoon and remanded to the Albany County Jail with bail set.
