RUTLAND — A 23-year-old inmate at Marble Valley Correctional Center has been charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct involving female staff members.
Jamir Fitzgerald of the Rutland area was charged following incidents that occurred on Aug. 4 and Aug. 12, according to Vermont State Police.
Police said Fitzgerald intentionally committed lewd and lascivious acts in the presence of two female Department of Corrections employees.
The first incident occurred Aug. 4 in the presence of a female mental health manager, police said.
The second incident occurred Aug. 12 in the presence of a female correctional officer, according to police.
The Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation was notified of the incidents and conducted the investigation.
Fitzgerald has been transferred to Northeastern Correctional Center in Newport, where he remains held on unrelated charges.
