East Fishkill traffic stop yields drugs, stolen gun charges

EAST FISHKILL — A Michigan man faces multiple felony charges after New York State Police discovered drugs and a stolen firearm during a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway.

Jordan K. Gilmore, 34, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was pulled over at approximately 10:40 p.m. Aug. 26 by members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

Gilmore consented to a search of his Buick sedan, according to police.

The search revealed a stolen, loaded Jimenez Arms pistol, approximately 22.2 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 34.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale, a fraudulent Florida driver’s license and debit cards bearing a false name.

Gilmore was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (narcotic drug with intent to sell), a class B felony.

He also faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (methamphetamine with intent to sell), a class B felony.

Additional charges include criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic drug), a class B felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree (methamphetamine), a class C felony.

Weapon-related charges include criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree (firearms), a class E felony.

Gilmore was also charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a class D felony, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Multiple vehicle and traffic law violations were also filed against Gilmore.

He was arraigned before the Town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.
