DELHI — A Masonville man was arrested twice in one week for violating a Delaware County Family Court order of protection, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced Tuesday.
Adam Zuk, 50, was first arrested Aug. 18 after deputies served him with the protection order at a residence in Masonville and he failed to comply with its provisions.
Deputies advised Zuk he needed to vacate the property, but he refused to comply and was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Zuk was processed at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
He was released on his own recognizance following the court proceedings.
On the morning of Aug. 20, deputies responded to a reported violation of the same protection order.
The protected party reported that Zuk had attempted to make phone contact on multiple occasions in violation of the order.
That afternoon, Town of Kortright and CAP Court Justice Yvonne Pagillo issued an arrest warrant for Zuk on a charge of criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony.
Zuk was arrested on the warrant Monday and processed on the felony charge.
Following arraignment proceedings, he was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and $10,000 secured bond.
