Rensselaer man arrested on child exploitation charges

SCHODACK — State Police arrested a 20-year-old Rensselaer man Aug. 27 on charges related to child sexual exploitation.

Corleone S. Bell faces charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.

Bell is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

The arrest followed an investigation and execution of a search warrant at Bell’s residence in Rensselaer on Aug. 27.

The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

State Police worked with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Bell was transported to State Police Schodack where he was processed.

He was arraigned at Rensselaer City Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash, $100,000 bond or a $15,000 partially secured bond.
